CHRISTMAS IN SALEM
Held annually on the first weekend of December, Christmas in SalemTM inaugurates the holiday season. Every year, homeowners welcome thousands of visitors, new and returning, into their elaborately decorated historic houses to see Salem from a different angle. With a different neighborhood and theme organized each year, Christmas in Salem is an enjoyable activity for residents and visitors alike.
This year’s tour theme, Seas and Greetings, explores the waterfront Derby Street neighborhood. Once at the heart of Salem’s thriving maritime trade, the neighborhood features centuries-old homes and landmarks tied to the city’s seafaring past. This December, step inside a selection of homes that make Derby Street so distinctive.
