Every year Historic Salem, Inc. invites community members to nominate recently completed renovation projects for a Preservation Award. In 2025, our annual Preservation Awards got even bigger as we hosted the Historic House Resource Expo! Together, we’ll recognize the outstanding preservation projects happening all around Salem, nominated by neighbors and selected by a panel of local experts.

NOMINATE A PROJECT
HSI invites the community to help identify outstanding preservation projects – large and small – across the city. Eligible projects must be completed within the past year and demonstrate excellence in stewardship, craftsmanship, and respect for historic character. Nominations are open to residential, commercial, public, and non-profit work.
Submission deadline: July 17, 2026
EXHIBIT AT THE EXPO
This event now includes a Historic Home Expo, where vendors can connect with local homeowners who are passionate about maintaining the historic integrity of their homes and eager to find trusted professionals. Vendors specializing in high-quality craftsmanship and preservation-minded services—including restoration carpentry, period window and masonry repair, architectural salvage, historic landscaping, and more—will have the opportunity to engage directly with these property owners.
