Salem, MA – On Tuesday, September 22, at the Hawthorne Hotel, Historic Salem, Inc. (HSI) held its Annual Preservation Awards event. Each year, Historic Salem, Inc. asks the Salem community to help identify the best examples of outstanding historic preservation projects and leadership throughout the city. Nominations are evaluated by a committee that includes a cross section of Salem’s citizens and members of the Salem Historical Commission. For this year’s event, HSI included a photo contest, capturing the past, present and future of historic Salem in partnership with Salem 400+.
Popular returning event emcee, Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker, again presented the awards.

Announced at the event was the launch of ticket sales for Historic Salem Inc.’s annual Christmas in Salem Holiday House Tour. The 48th annual tour will take place on December 4, 5 and 6, 2026 and feature properties in the Derby Street neighborhood.
