Today Historic Salem, Inc. announces the dates for its popular Preservation Awards and Historic House Resource Expo. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Salem High School. The event, which is open to the public, will run from 9 am to 12 pm.
At the popular Preservation Awards event, attendees will learn about:
- High-quality renovation and preservation of residential or commercial properties
- Expert craftsmanship in fences, arbors, garden houses, and historic landscaping
- Exceptional stewardship, going beyond basic maintenance to preserve historic integrity
Award nominations for Preservation Awards can be made by anyone and award recipients are chosen by a committee of citizens including members of Historic Salem, Inc. and the Salem Historical Commission. Nominations for Preservation Awards can be made on the Historic Salem, Inc. website.
In its second year of running concurrently with the Preservation Awards, the Historic House Resource Expo will feature suppliers of products and services needed by homeowners in historic Salem and the North Shore area.
The combined event is perfect for homeowners who are looking for information and resources to help them with home improvement and restoration projects. Our Preservation Awards offer one of the best ways to learn from those who have successfully completed preservation and restoration projects around the city. The Historic House Resource Expo offers an opportunity to meet with companies and individuals whose services are used in such projects.
